It had a load-bearing body base and fiberglass panels made from fiberglass and BF adhesive, weighed 1,062 kg fully loaded, and offered 300 mm of ground clearance. Fitted with disengageable rear wheels and wheel reduction gears, it served as the basis for the later ZAZ-969, also known as the LuAZ-969.
