Boneschi Thema Gazella

1986

The Thema Gazella was a two-door concept version of the Lancia Thema produced by Boneschi, an Italian coachbuilding firm with a long-established reputation. The transformation reworked the four-door Thema saloon into a two-door body, with side window proportions that were considered well judged, complemented by a plain black grille at the front.

Inside, the Gazella received leather upholstery, electrically adjustable headrests, and a high-specification stereo system, giving the cabin a more elevated feel than the standard Thema.

Boneschi's conversion involved extensive structural changes to turn a four-door saloon into a two-door car, and demand sufficient to justify series production was not expected. As a result, the Thema Gazella remained a one-off exercise rather than a model put into regular manufacture.
