Fangchengbao presented the Formula X at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show as a road-legal sports concept and the principal performance model within its new Formula range. The vehicle appeared alongside the Formula S, Formula S GT and Formula SL, extending the BYD-owned brand beyond its established SUV line-up.
The Formula X has a low body, pronounced rear haunches and a sharply tapered front section. Narrow headlights sit above large lower air openings, while a front splitter, dark side elements and a substantial rear aerodynamic structure define the lower body. The concept was displayed with upward-opening doors and a bright green exterior finish.
Fangchengbao states that the concept is more than 80 per cent identical to the intended production vehicle. Its design is connected with the Formula sedan series, while the model has been developed as the range’s reference point for appearance, performance and driving experience.
Detailed dimensions, powertrain specifications and performance figures have not yet been released. The production Formula X is scheduled to reach the market in 2027.
