Peugeot Concept 6

2026

Peugeot presented the Concept 6 at the 2026 Beijing International Auto Show as its proposal for a new generation of large sedans. The vehicle formed one half of a two-concept presentation intended to show how the company’s design and driving characteristics could be combined with electric and intelligent technologies developed for China and other international markets.

The Concept 6 does not follow the proportions of a conventional three-box saloon. Its silhouette combines the formal character of a large sedan with the extended rear profile of a shooting brake. Peugeot also connects this body style with its earlier grand touring estates, using the concept to continue a type of long-distance passenger car that has appeared at different stages of the company’s history.

Peugeot describes the exterior through contrasting subjects. The vehicle is intended to appear elegant and sporting, while its surfaces and proportions combine contemporary elements with forms that are not tied to a short-lived design trend. The company places particular emphasis on the relationship between the passenger compartment, body length and rear volume rather than introducing the concept through individual decorative features.

The Concept 6 also introduces part of Peugeot’s future product programme for larger vehicles. It is not an isolated motor-show exercise, as the company states that the two Beijing concepts anticipate a forthcoming line-up of large sedans and SUVs. These models will be developed for customers in China and will also be exported from China to other markets within Peugeot’s international network.

Production of the future vehicles will be entrusted to Dongfeng at its Wuhan plant. Peugeot will contribute its exterior design and chassis development, while technology from its Chinese partner will form another part of the programme. No dimensions, powertrain details, battery specifications, performance figures or introduction date were published for the Concept 6 at its Beijing presentation.
