OPAC is an Italian coachbuilder and engineering supplier founded in 1986 in Rivalta di Torino by Pierangelo Sacco. The company specialized in soft-tops and hard-tops, body engineering, prototypes and limited-series assembly for major manufacturers and Italian carrozzieri. Its automotive division designed complete vehicles and roof systems and built show cars, one-offs and small runs, while a parallel marine division produced tops and deck components for yacht builders. OPAC public materials listed long-running collaborations with brands such as Alfa Romeo, Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati, Pininfarina and Touring Superleggera, and described vertically integrated facilities covering design, tooling, prototype build and low-volume production.
Within this context OPAC promoted an initiative called Supernova, presented publicly as an “innovative automotive project” in mid-2023 during the Legends Gold Trophy event in Agadir, Morocco, alongside a team identified as the Supernova working group. Beyond the announcement, OPAC did not release technical specifications, manufacturing plans or program timing on its website, and independent coverage remained limited to social posts noting the presentation. As of the latest accessible sources, Supernova appeared as a development-stage OPAC concept rather than a documented production program.
