Itamia Automotive was a small Italian engineering and prototyping company that sought to launch a limited-production supercar under the name Leonardo. The project was conceived as a mid-engined sports car built on a purpose-designed automotive steel chassis with a 1:1 full-scale body template completed and interior components ready for production. The concept was unusually flexible: Itamia proposed powertrains ranging from a hybrid system combining bioethanol and hydrogen fuel cells to a purely electric or conventional gasoline engine, with the hydrogen cell technology already tested in another vehicle for two years. The project also included plans for bespoke interiors, accessories, and an associated clothing line.
Itamia sought investors to acquire the rights to the Leonardo project and to commence production of 25–50 units per year, with an estimated per-unit cost of €300,000 and a targeted sale price of €1.5 million. The company presented Leonardo as a turnkey opportunity including patents, technical drawings, chassis, molds, and supplier network, but no record exists of series production beginning.
