FEATURED - Mazzanti Evantra V8 uncovered in Monaco

May 04, 2013

Evantra - known as a goddess of immortality – is also a name of a brand-new Italian supercar. Announced as early as in September, 2011 this model was under intensive development since then. Initially known as “Project M/03”, later as “Project Mugello” the car was finally given a name of the Etruscan origin, following the tradition applied for both of first two models – Antas1 (means “eagle”) and Vulca2 (named after Vulca da Veio - the most famous Etruscan sculptor).

The Evantra was envisioned as a highly exclusive bespoke hand-crafted four-wheeled sculpture. Luca Mazzanti and his small passionate team of artisans of Mazzanti Automobili chose such materials like carbon fiber, aluminum, steel, chrome-molybdenum to make this piece of automotive art. Actually, the car will be available in two versions of the bodywork – Pro Body will be a carbon fibre composite option while the One Body will be a unique on-request only hand-beaten all-aluminum bodywork alternative.

Combining old Italian design traditions in an equilibrium with modern design language, the exterior of the Evantra was developed by Zsolt Tarnok and Luca Mazzanti. It features rounded and sleek, yet sharp and aggressive styling. Smooth but complicated and furious styling of the front end is continued towards the back through a muscular and powerful side doors and sloping roofline. The rear end of the Evantra looks very mighty and rear diffuser as well as a spoiler find their places here.

Under a splitted rear hood hides the powerful heart of the goddess. It is an aluminum 7.0-liter V8 engine generating wild power of 701hp at 6600 rpm and 848 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. Mated with a 6-speed manual or sequential gearbox Evantra will hit a top speed of more than 350 km/h and will accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

Enriched with a highly capable aggregates the Mazzanti Automobili’s sculpture will not be Spartan inside, as well. Absolutely customized interior, fitting to a taste of the particular customer will be hand-created from expensive and luxurious materials including high quality leather and precious metals. The center console of the Evantra will be equipped with the state-of the-art infotainment system from Bosch. Finally, the model has received and exclusive collection of accessories made by Italian atelier FB 1913.

The world premiere for the Evantra took its place on the 18th of April at the Top Marques Monaco show. Proudly uncovered by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco, the car will be made in the workshops of Mazzanti Automobili in Pisa. Not more than 5 units a year will be made. Though the actual price tag for the car has not been disclosed, this is not the factor for wealthy enthusiasts, collectors and aficionados of highly exclusive, powerful and unique cars like this model.

The Evantra is a pure single-piece amalgam of Italian best – passion, tradition, artisanal culture, classic and modern approaches – features that lead masterpieces to eternity and immortality.
