The Spazio 3 was a design study for a three-wheeled commercial pick-up, developed by Ilca Maggiora SpA and designed by Paolo Martin. It was based on an existing Piaggio three-wheeled delivery vehicle layout with a single front wheel, a type of small motorcycle-engined light commercial vehicle that was widely used in Italy at the time.
Despite being a pure utility vehicle, the Spazio 3 was notable for its styling. Its cabin was comparatively spacious for the class, with two seats and two doors that were cut deep into the roofline and could be removed entirely, turning the vehicle into a kind of open cabriolet with roll-over protection. The load bed featured lockable flap-style covers on both sides, finished with ribbing that echoed the air-intake slats running across the front of the vehicle, a line that continued into the steeply raked, flat windscreen.
Mechanically, the Spazio 3 relied on a Piaggio-derived underpinning with a two-stroke engine offered in 125 cc or 250 cc displacements. It measured 2820 mm in length, 1400 mm in width and 1350 mm in height, with a 1690 mm wheelbase, a track of 1160 mm, and a weight of 250 kg. It remained a design study rather than a production vehicle.
