AMG, or AB Motorfabriken, was a Swedish automobile manufacturer established in 1897 in Gothenburg. The company initially focused on importing vehicles, specifically the Georges Richard from France. Following this, AMG obtained a license to manufacture these vehicles locally.
In addition to importing, AMG developed a prototype of its own vehicle, which was powered by an air-cooled 2-cylinder Fafiur engine. The company produced approximately ten units of this model, featuring locally crafted wooden bodies. Notably, one of these production cars remained in regular use until 1928, highlighting the durability of their early automotive efforts.
