Barreiros Diesel was a Spanish automotive manufacturer founded in 1951 by Eduardo Barreiros in Madrid. The company initially focused on the production of trucks and diesel engines, which were in high demand in post-war Spain. Barreiros played a significant role in the Spanish automotive industry during its operational years.

In 1963, Barreiros signed a contract with Chrysler to manufacture the Dodge Dart in Spain, rebranded as the Barreiros Dart. This model became notable as the largest Spanish car produced in the postwar era. The Barreiros Dart featured several modifications, including rectangular headlamps, a distinct radiator grille, a four-speed gearbox, and disc brakes on all wheels. In 1966, the company expanded its production to include the SIMCA 1000, further diversifying its offerings.

The company faced significant changes in 1969 when the Barreiros brothers departed from the business, leading to its acquisition by Chrysler's European Division. Following this transition, the factory continued to produce various models, including the Simca 1200 and Chrysler 150 and 180. In 1978, Barreiros was sold to the Peugeot-Citroën Group, which continued operations at the Madrid facility, producing models such as the TALBOT 150/180, Horizon, and Samba. By 1999, the factory was still engaged in the production of Peugeot models, while the truck division was sold to Renault.
