Officine Meccaniche E. Gnesutta was an Italian automotive manufacturer based in Milan, established in the early 20th century. The company was founded in 1900 and was known for its ambitious attempt to enter the burgeoning automobile market.
The prototype developed by Gnesutta featured a 2-cylinder Welleyes engine, which was designed by Aristide Faccioli. This engine was notably similar to the one used in the first Fiat model produced in 1899. Despite the innovative design and engineering efforts, the Gnesutta car never progressed to mass production, and the company ultimately ceased operations without having released any vehicles to the market.
The backing of Adolfo Schlegel indicated a level of support for the venture, but the lack of a production model limited the brand's impact on the automotive industry. Gnesutta remains a footnote in the history of early automotive development in Italy.
