Worldmobile

UNITED STATES

time-calendar.png 1927-1928

In 1926, the Relay Motors Corporation of Lima, OH announced plans to build a car powered by an 8-cylinder 65 hp Lycoming engine with a full range of sport and closed bodies, with prices around the $1,700 mark. The Worldmobile was a very ordinary and undistinguished vehicle, with very square and upright styling.
The Relay Motors Corporation came into being in early 1927, buying the truck producing companies of Commerce (Ypsilanti, MI), Service (Wabash, IN) and Garford (Lima, OH). With all of this activity, the Worldmobile was no longer a priority. While it is claimed that 7 prototypes were built, only one was shown publicly, which still exists today.
