Avante Cars was a British manufacturer based in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, that operated from 1982 to 1986. The company specialized in producing kit cars, notably the Avante, which was based on the Volkswagen Beede platform. The design of the Avante featured sophisticated styling, crafted by designer Melvyn Kay.
The Avante utilized standard Beede engines, but it was also compatible with water-cooled four-cylinder engines, such as those found in the Volkswagen Golf GTI. In 1983, the company introduced a Mk2 version of the Avante, which featured several enhancements. This updated model was longer and taller, providing increased space in both the engine bay and the interior, which was configured as a 2+2. Additionally, the Mk2 version showcased a sharper front-end design and distinctive rear three-quarter windows.
