Minimach was an Italian automotive brand established in 1968, operating under the company E.S.A.P. SpA, which was based in Venice. The brand is primarily known for its production of the Minimach GT, a sports car that closely resembled the British Unipower GT. The Minimach GT featured rectangular headlamps, distinguishing it from its British counterpart, which had round headlamps.
The production of the Minimach GT faced significant legal challenges. The British manufacturer of the Unipower GT initiated swift legal action against E.S.A.P. SpA, resulting in the destruction of all tooling related to the Minimach GT. This legal dispute effectively curtailed the brand's operations and production capabilities.
In addition to the Minimach GT, a similar vehicle was produced in South Africa under the name Banshee. This version was notable for its lack of a roof and a cut-down windscreen, further emphasizing the design similarities to the Unipower GT. However, the Minimach brand did not achieve lasting success and remains a footnote in the history of automotive manufacturing.
