WM GreenTech Automotive (GTA) was a U.S. electric-vehicle venture founded in 2009 by Xiaolin “Charles” Wang. Incorporated in Virginia with operations based in Mississippi, it focused on low-speed neighborhood electric vehicles. In May 2010 GTA acquired Hong Kong–based EuAuto Technology, adding the two-seat MyCar to its lineup and relocating pilot activity to Horn Lake, Mississippi before shifting to a new facility in Robinsonville/Tunica in 2014. GTA operated under WM Industries and, in 2014, merged with VL Automotive to pursue a gasoline-powered luxury sedan program branded Destino while continuing to market the MyCar for fleet and campus use. In China, GTA also acted as distributor for Saleen Automotive, which led to Saleen models such as the S7 appearing in GTA’s promoted offerings.
Despite public announcements, reported production remained limited, and state-backed job and investment targets were missed. The Tunica facility opened in October 2014 but later ceased operations. GTA filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in February 2018, and subsequent proceedings detailed extensive EB-5 fundraising tied to the project. The company was active from 2009 to 2018; notable assets included the MyCar NEV and rights associated with the Destino program.
