Dodo

This brand name was associated with an early American cyclecar project developed by the Auto Parts Manufacturing Co. of Detroit, Michigan. The vehicle was designed by Karl Probst, an employee of the company, and featured a 10/12 horsepower two-cylinder air-cooled engine that drove the front wheels.

Although the car had a standard track of 56 inches, wide enough to allow side-by-side seating, its seats were arranged in tandem fashion. Despite the completed design, the car never reached production.

Karl Probst subsequently moved to Toledo, where he worked for the Milburn company on its electric vehicles. He later joined American Austin, and while working with that company's successor, American Bantam, he became one of the principal engineers responsible for the development of the Jeep.
