Crofton Marine Engine Co. was an American company based in San Diego, California, that operated from 1959 to 1961. The company specialized in the production of marine engines and was notable for acquiring the rights to the Crosley engine, which it primarily marketed as a stationary engine.
In addition to its engine manufacturing, Crofton Marine Engine Co. revived the Crosley Farm-O-Road, a small midget jeep, and rebranded it as the Bug. This venture reflected the company's efforts to diversify its product offerings beyond marine engines. Despite its brief existence, Crofton contributed to the automotive landscape of the time through its innovative approaches to engine use and vehicle design.
