Burgett-West was an early American automobile manufacturer founded in 1899 by GE. Burgett, a machinist, and William S. West, who operated a laundry in Middleburg, New York. The company was known for its attempt to produce a steam-powered vehicle, which was designed as a pilot model but never entered full production.

The vehicle developed by Burgett-West featured a two-cylinder steam engine and utilized gasoline as fuel. It employed a single chain drive to the rear axle, showcasing the innovative engineering of the time. Although the car was operated for several years, it ultimately did not achieve commercial success and is believed to have been scrapped after its operational period.

Despite its limited production and eventual demise, Burgett-West represents a part of the early automotive history in the United States, reflecting the experimentation and ambition of its founders during the nascent stages of the automotive industry.
