Brown Cyclocar Company was established in 1914 in Asbury Park, New Jersey. The company specialized in the production of cyclecars, a type of lightweight automobile that was popular in the early 20th century. Brown Cyclocar produced two notable models during its brief existence. The first was a typical cyclecar that featured a 10 horsepower, 2-cylinder Spacke engine coupled with a belt drive system. The second model, known as the Monmouth Raceabout, was more powerful, equipped with a 20 horsepower, 4-cylinder engine and utilized a shaft drive.

Despite its innovative designs, Brown Cyclocar Company faced financial difficulties and declared bankruptcy within a year of its formation, marking a short-lived chapter in the history of American automotive manufacturing.
