Brewster & Co. was an American automobile manufacturer based in Long Island City, New York, that operated from 1916 to 1925 and briefly from 1934 to 1936. The company initially gained prominence as a builder of custom car bodies and luxury carriages before transitioning into automobile production. During its first production period, Brewster produced a range of meticulously crafted vehicles, primarily aimed at affluent customers who preferred understated elegance over ostentation.

The automobiles produced by Brewster were powered by a proprietary 4-cylinder Knight sleeve-valve engine. The models included both open and closed configurations, with a particular focus on compact town-carriage types. Brewster cars were distinguished by their round radiator grilles, which were inspired by the Delaunay-Belleville car, for which Brewster held the American franchise until the disruptions of World War I. The company offered customization options, including the positioning of the steering wheel, and many of its town cars featured patent-leather bumpers.

In 1925, Brewster & Co. was absorbed by Rolls-Royce (US), marking the end of its first era. The brand made a brief resurgence from 1934 to 1936 under the Springfield Manufacturing Company in Springfield, Massachusetts. During this period, Brewster produced approximately 120 vehicles based on Ford V8 and Buick chassis, characterized by heart-shaped grilles, flared wings, and split bumpers. These later models were identified by the Brewster & Co. branding on their hubcaps.
