Bizzarrini was an automotive brand based in Tustin, California, that aimed to revive the legacy of its namesake, Giotto Bizzarrini, an influential figure in automotive design and engineering. The brand was established with the intention of producing low-volume, high-priced sports cars, beginning with the Bizzarrini BZ-2001 prototype, which was developed in 1992.
The BZ-2001 was notable for its design, which was directly influenced by Giotto Bizzarrini himself. The prototype utilized the running gear of a Ferrari Testarossa, showcasing a blend of Italian automotive heritage and American innovation. The company, Disgno di Bizzarrini, planned to manufacture the BZ-2001 in limited quantities, with aspirations to eventually create its own chassis and V12 engine.
In addition to producing the BZ-2001, Bizzarrini intended to offer design and development services for other automotive companies. The initial production run of the BZ-2001 was priced at $250,000 per unit, allowing buyers the flexibility to choose their preferred drivetrain.
