Amore

Amore Cars was an American kit car manufacturer based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company became known primarily for a single model, the Cimbria, which was regarded as one of the more refined designs in the kit car segment, distinguished by clean, restrained styling that avoided the excessive ornamentation typical of many competitors.

The Cimbria was originally engineered to be built on a Volkswagen floorpan, a common approach among kit car makers seeking an affordable and readily available chassis platform. As the design matured, it was reengineered with a tube frame chassis capable of accommodating transverse-mounted V6 and V8 engines, and the car was upgraded with four-wheel disc brakes to match its increased performance potential.

The Cimbria proved commercially successful, prompting Amore Cars to introduce a more upscale variant, the Viper 2000, in 1984. Unlike the Cimbria, which was typically sold as a kit for home assembly, the Viper 2000 was offered only fully assembled. In its most powerful configuration, fitted with a Porsche 930 Turbo engine, the Viper 2000 carried a price of 62,000 dollars in 1985, with less expensive engine options also available for buyers seeking a lower cost of entry.

In 1990, the Cimbria project was acquired by Nereia Yachts, which continued production of the model. The car remained in production under Nereia Yachts as late as 1999, extending the life of Amore Cars' original design well beyond the company's own involvement in its manufacture.
