Caribbean was a British automotive brand that operated from 1976 to 1983, based in Lichfield, Staffordshire. The brand was established by Reef Engineering and was notable for its unique vehicle designs, which were primarily conceived by John Crosthwaite, a former chief engineer at Reliant.
The Caribbean lineup included two main models: the Cub and the Cob. The Cub was a doorless four-seater beach car that featured a lockable boot, making it suitable for leisure activities. In contrast, the Cob was a two-seater pickup truck that included doors, catering to a different segment of the market. Both models utilized mechanical components from Reliant's Kitten and Fox vehicles, which contributed to their lightweight and economical design.
Most Caribbean vehicles were exported to markets such as Barbados and the Seychelles, although kits were also offered for assembly in the United Kingdom. The brand's focus on niche markets and distinctive vehicle types characterized its brief existence in the automotive industry.
