Fabrica Hispano, based in Barcelona, operated from 1956 to 1960, following the sale of the Hispano-Suiza plants to Pegaso (ENASA). The company continued its automotive activities at a facility in Hostafranchs, where it developed two prototypes of new Hispano Suiza automobiles. One of these prototypes featured a Hugas body and was powered by a Simca 1200cc engine. Additionally, technicians at the company worked on a flat-4 engine in 1955.
In 1956, Fabrica Hispano shifted its focus to the production of microcars, offering four distinct models. These included the F4 R, which had an estate car body, the F pick-up, the J garden version that lacked doors, and the F2, a pick-up available with or without a closed box. Approximately 400 units of these microcars were produced, each equipped with a Hispano-Villiers single-cylinder engine that delivered 9 horsepower. All models featured independent front suspension, rack and pinion steering, and hydraulic brakes. The company also marketed the F5 model, which was powered by a twin-cylinder engine producing 15 horsepower.
