Entrop was a Dutch automobile manufacturer founded in 1909 in 's-Gravenmoer by Marinus Entrop. Initially established as De's-Gravenhaagsche Rijwielen- en Motorrijwielenfabriek, the company transitioned from bicycle production to automobile manufacturing after three years of operation.
The first vehicle produced by Entrop was a tiller-steered three-wheeler, which featured either a 417cc single-cylinder or an 813cc two-cylinder air-cooled engine positioned behind the front wheel. This vehicle weighed approximately 400 kg and utilized a gearbox driven by two Brampton chains. Notably, the design included an enclosed body for passenger comfort, while the driver had the option to use a steering wheel instead of a tiller in the more luxurious four-wheeled variant.
In its inaugural year, Entrop produced only four vehicles, with two being delivered within the Netherlands and the remaining units exported to the Dutch East Indies and Brazil. The company’s brief production run marked a unique chapter in early automotive history, reflecting the innovative spirit of the time.
