Bitter & Co. KG was a German automobile manufacturer founded in 1973 by Erich Bitter, headquartered in Schwelm, Germany. The company specialized in producing limited edition and often sport-oriented versions of Opel vehicles. Bitter's first model, the Diplomat CD, was introduced in the early years of the company. This two-door coupe was based on the Opel Diplomat V8, featuring a 5.4-liter engine, automatic transmission, power steering, power disc brakes, and a De Dion rear axle. A total of 463 units of the Diplomat CD were produced until 1979.

Following the Diplomat CD, Bitter launched a new model based on the Opel Senator, which was equipped with a 3-liter, six-cylinder fuel-injected engine. This model offered options such as a five-speed manual gearbox and luxurious interior trim made from Chinese buffalo hide. In 1990, the company introduced the Type 3, which was based on the Opel Omega and available in saloon, coupe, or convertible body styles. The Type 3 featured engine options producing either 177 or 204 horsepower, with the latter variant equipped with a 24-valve configuration.

At the 1991 Frankfurt Motor Show, Bitter showcased the Trisco, a mid-engined supercar that remained in the prototype stage and did not progress to production. Following the introduction of the Type 3 and the Trisco, production of Bitter's models ceased shortly thereafter, marking the end of the company's automotive endeavors.
