Automotive newcomer Girfalco is ready to shake things up in the market with the Azkarra, a three-wheel high-end all-electric vehicle that not only promises to deliver sports performances similar to much more expensive vehicles, but is also an automotive design masterpiece.
Based in Boucherville, Québec, Girfalco’s design team has spared no effort under the direction and inspiration of Simon Luc Bouchard, Girfalco’s Chief Executive Officer, to design a vehicle that rivals the most beautiful vehicles on the road today. The Azkarra combines classicism and modernity in what can be considered as a big step forward within the three-wheel vehicle industry, surpassing the competition in every point.
Two versions, one spirit
Equipped with three motors, the Azkarra S is without a doubt the quickest vehicle in its category, playing shoulder to shoulder with the likes of supercars and even hypercars. Having torque vectoring capabilities, the Azkarra S manages the power sent to each wheel, increasing your grip on the road.
Even if the Azkarra S is the sportier of the two available versions, don’t be fooled by the fact that the Azkarra is the base model; it is a sports vehicle that promises to be quicker than most sports car on the market today.
Even better than exclusivity, uniqueness
Girfalco prides itself in being able to offer a customizable vehicle to each of its clients. Be it the wheels of the vehicle, the color scheme or the available seat colors, clients are able to choose within an array of options to make their vehicle their own. The Azkarra will also be limited at 100 vehicles and Girfalco’s production objective for 2017 is 25 vehicles; of course, should demand be high enough, production pace might be increased, but the production run is guaranteed to be limited to 100. Therefore, the Azkarra will not be a vehicle people will see at every corner, making it a true head turner!
In addition to that, Girfalco goes a step further by offering unique editions, under which the client can choose from a selection of national racing colors inspired vehicles and exclusive options, each unique edition being, as the name clearly states, unique. Available in both Azkarra and Azkarra S, the unique editions are a guarantee that no other Azkarra will be in the same color combination as yours.
High performances
The Azkarra is undoubtedly a sports vehicle, with touches of comfort, making the ride as enjoyable and fun as possible, equipped with a high performance braking system, optimized suspension, precise steering system and powerful electric motors. The driver can truly be one with the Azkarra, which will obey his every command, be it a quick acceleration, a quick turn or an abrupt braking.
Based on conservative simulations, the Azkarra will be able to accelerate 0-100 kph in 4.5 seconds; the Azkarra S will be able to achieve the same speed in 2.5 seconds, which makes it the quickest vehicle in its category and in very good company if you include four-wheel vehicles. To achieve these performance levels, the Azkarra produces 54 kW of continuous power, with 75 kW of peak power; for the “S” version, these figures go up to 162 kW and 225 kW, respectively.
The Azkarra S will be equipped with torque vectoring, a first in the three-wheel industry, enabling better grip and sportier turning capabilities.
Maximum speed will be electronically limited to 240 kph for the “S” version, while the base Azkarra will be limited to 200 kph.
In terms of weight, the Azkarra has an estimated weight (excluding passengers) of 480 kg, while the Azkarra S, due to its three motors, tips the scale at 510 kg.
Girfalco is at this point guaranteeing a minimum range of 200 km, which is enough for every day usage; users will be able to recharge their Azkarra at 80% in around 30 minutes with a level 3 charger.
Affordable performance
All things being relative, the Girfalco Azkarra and Azkarra S are quite affordable for their performances. Estimated MSRP are C$67,500 and C$97,500 for the Azkarra and Azkarra S, respectively. Similarly priced vehicles in the same category won’t provide you with the same combination of excitement, performances and exclusivity. Various options are available to Azkarra buyers, the most exciting one being to convert your vehicle into a unique edition, at an extra of C$10,000.
This exquisite automotive masterpiece and high performance vehicle will be open for pre-orders mid-January 2017, subject to a refundable deposit.
