2018 Geneva Motor Show – Quattroruote ISORIVOLTA VISION GRAN TURISMO ZAGATO
Geneva, March 6, 2018 - After having been announced last August at the Grand Basel preview and anticipated at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, the IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo Zagato, one of the drivable cars in the Gran Turismo Sport videogame by Sony Polyphony for Playstation, is hosted on the Quattroruote stand for its European premiere.
This is not the first time Quattroruote acts as godfather for an IsoRivolta model. In the Sixties and Seventies, the Italian magazine dedicated several covers to the models by the Milan-based automaker, like the Grifo, the Fidia and the Lele
Today, more than fifty years later, Zagato revives this tradition bringing back together the Milanese brands: IsoRivolta, Quattroruote and Pirelli, another Milanese excellence, who often used IsoRivolta and Zagato cars in its tyres advertisements.
After all, Milan is where, in 1949, the Gran Turismo category of motorsport - which is now celebrated in the virtual reality world of the videogame by Sony Polyphony - was conceived and promoted by four illustrious figures from Milan: Count Giovannino Lurani, the Mayor of Milan at the time, famous sports reporter Giovanni Canestrini, and Elio Zagato, gentleman driver and father of Andrea, the actual CEO of Zagato.
The IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo will be made in five numbered units at the Zagato Atelier in Rho, at the outskirts of Milan. Work is in progress to fine tune the bespoke chassis, made by Dome from carbon fibre. The power unit is confirmed to be a 2018 GM/Corvette, like in the most prestigious IsoRivolta models of the past. The engine will have multiple performance configurations.
The tyres are Pirelli P Zero Color Edition, with a red stripe on the shoulder that enhances the aggressive look of the car. The P Zero family ranks at the top in the Pirelli product range in terms of performance and prestige.
