Arrinera teases final design of the first Polish supercar [HQ]

Aug 01, 2012

Usually the brightest automotive starts and novelties are revealed in spring and autumn at the most important international motor shows of Geneva, Paris or Frankfurt. However, an emerging Polish supercar manufacturer Arrinera Automotive has chosen the 31st week of the year to reveal the finalized design of their anticipated supercar which still does not have an official model name.

Presented for the first time exclusively for the selected audience last June, the Arrinera has gone through an extensive development. Actually, the whole project now counts its fourth years since the first information was released already in 2008. From that moment, the company has received lots of responses and bad criticism blaming both design and construction of the car.

Nevertheless, the team is keeping up with their objectives and is about to reveal the final product next week. The released set of four teaser images accordingly give a glimpse but not full information what is hiding under the curtain. Emphasized muscular wings and streamlined profile look much different than we saw on 2011 prototype. Also, clearly stressed is a carbon fiber skin of the final model.

According to the final specifications announced earlier, the Arrinera production car will get a custom-build chassis made by world-famous supercar guru Lee Noble. Under the composite skin will be mounted an 8-cylinder 6.2-litre engine with a maximum power of 650hp and 820 Nm torque. It will get coupled to a Graziano gearbox enabling and estimated sprint to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds while the top speed should be in the area of 340km/h or near.

The price tag for this British-Polish supercar will start from 100.000 GBP and according to the previous announcement the company hopes to start selling their vehicle at the end of this year.

Anyhow, not much is left to wait until we get a full idea of what Pavlo Burkatskyy – Arrinera’s designer – and the entire team has produced. Will this be a competitive response for those from Ferrari, Lamborghini or other manufacturers capable to go head to head? Time will show, we’ll be waiting.
