Hummingbird

UNITED STATES

time-calendar.png 1946-1950

Talmadge Judd of Kingsport, TN built the Hummingbird as a precursor to possible full-scale production, which did not eventuate.
The Hummingbird was a small - approximately half the size of a contemporary American sedan, and had a two-seater roadster body. It rode on an 215cm (85in) wheelbase, and had a total weight of just 612kg (1,350pds), due to the use of thin but weak 8-gauge steel for the body panels.
A small 4-cylinder engine developed 20bhp and gave the Hummingbird a top speed of 112kmh (70mph). The car was used by George Judd to promote Judd's Lock Shop in Kingsport until the mid-1950's.
