Camat was a Portuguese automotive manufacturer based in Porto, known for its production of the Czmat Douro, a replica of the MG TD. The company operated from approximately 1987 until around 1996 and was officially named Comp. Ind. Montagcni de Auromoveis.
The Czmat Douro utilized components from the Volkswagen Beetle, allowing for a more accessible production process. The vehicle was offered both as a complete car and in kit form, catering to enthusiasts who preferred to assemble their own vehicles.
In addition to the Douro, Camat reportedly worked on a special chassis designed for a front-mounted Ford engine, which was intended for a second model—a sports car inspired by the classic Talbot. However, details about this model remain limited, and it is unclear if it ever reached production.
