De Dion-Bouton was a French manufacturer of automobiles and railcars that operated from 1883 to 1953. It was founded by the Marquis Jules-Albert de Dion, along with Georges Bouton and Bouton's brother-in-law Charles-Armand Trépardoux, after de Dion agreed to finance the pair's engineering ambitions following his encounter with a toy locomotive.
