Bleriot was a French automobile manufacturer that operated briefly from 1921 to 1922. The company was founded by Louis Bleriot, who was renowned for his pioneering achievements in aviation, particularly for being the first person to fly across the English Channel in a monoplane of his own design on July 25, 1909.
During World War I, Bleriot's company shifted its focus to aircraft production, establishing a British factory in Addlestone, Surrey, to manufacture both Bleriot and Spad aircraft. After the war, the Suresnes factory in France produced a limited number of cyclecars, which were equipped with 8/10 horsepower, 2-cylinder, 2-stroke engines and utilized shaft drive technology.
Despite its short-lived existence in the automotive sector, Bleriot's legacy in aviation remained significant, reflecting the company's origins in pioneering flight.
