Studebaker - Sceptre

time-calendar.png 1963

225hp 289 cu. in. V8 engine, four-bbl Carter carburetor, four-speed transmission disc brakes, heavy-duty springs and sway bars and four-wheel disc brakes. Wheelbase: 120.5"

The GT Hawk offered here underwent a full body-off restoration in the mid 1990s. Every mechanical aspect of the Hawk was either rebuilt or replaced and the frame was dipped and stripped. The Hawk is fitted with the most powerful engine options available and it comes with the optional floor-mounted, four-speed transmission. Another rare option seldom seen are the "AirFlow" wheel covers that were specially designed to draw in air to cool the brakes. The paintwork is a stylish plum, while the interior was completely refitted in a contrasting tan saddle fabric. The fabric was the last bolt manufactured by Phantom in Knoxville, Tennessee, expressly for Studebaker.

In addition, this beautiful Hawk features factory optional Stratoline mirrors, exhaust deflectors, whitewall tires, rear antenna and speaker, pushbutton radio, Climatizer, tach and clock. Featured in numerous publications, this dashing Hawk also claimed first in its class at the Studebaker club's international events in 1995 and 1996. Driven less than 200 miles since restoration it should still be judged a 100 point car.
