A luxury lounge on wheels is Aurora II, a uniquely-designed Ford station wagon with curved lounge seats, plush vinyl and "woodgrain" trim, deep pile carpeting, an eight-inch Philco television set, a Philco AM/FM stereo radio and a stereo tape recorder and player.

Aurora II is painted a special "pearlescent white gold" which is color-keyed to the special white gold vinyl interior trim The carpeting is bright gold cut-pile nylon.

English oak "wood-textured" side panels which accentuate the luxury lounge interior are framed with light oak rails.

Modified from Ford Division's LTD Country Squire, this one-of-a-kind station wagon has only three side doors...one on the left and two on the right. The rear passenger door on the driver's side has been eliminated because of the center lounge seat. The center door pillar on the passenger side also has been eliminated.

Both the right doors swing open from the center to provide wide access to the center lounge area. The door width opening is approximately six feet.

Access to the rear lounge area is through the doorgate, which can be opened with the window up or down. The rear seat is also a curved lounge seat.

The front passenger seat is a "swivel chair" that turns in any direction. This is especially convenient so that the front passenger can face the curved, three-passenger "sofa" seat.

The deluxe luggage rack on the roof of the Aurora II has a built-in air deflector to help keep the rear window clean.

This unique design concept of the Aurora II is based on the original Aurora luxury lounge station wagon, a design research vehicle introduced by the Ford Design Center in 1964 at the New York World's Fair.
