time-calendar.png 1988

Using advanced computer design and engineering systems, Dodge has combined technological expertise with progressive thinking to develop a striking car named Intrepid.

With mid-engine design, totally balanced performance is now a reality. This car is at one with the road as it hugs the pavement during fight maneuvering situations, Its four-wheel independent suspension system with race-tuned springs and gas-charged shocks takes corners as well as flat-out straightways.

It even looks like it own the road. Intrepid's aircraft-inspired canopy flows gracefully rearward into the engine compartment and rear deck. Within this aerodynamic shape are engine access panels, engine ventilation slots and ducts, and a functional trunk. Notice its distinctive rear deck louvers and aircraft canopy-styled rear windows. Intrepid. Dodge has thought of everything for the '90s.

What you are controlling are 225 powerful horses at 6000 rpm. Intrepid's all new 2.2-liter Super Turbo III engine with 16 valves generates 225 pound-feet of torque at 3500 rpm. It twin cam fou-cylinder desigm features multi-point electronic fuel injection and an advanced intercooled turbocharger. All this is coupled to a high capacity, five-speed manual overdrive transaxle with short-shift capability and race-tuned Getrag gear set.
