The Chevrolet Camaro GTZ was a concept car developed by General Motors' Design Staff, based on the Chevrolet Camaro Z28. It was presented under the name Camaro GTZ Aerodynamic 4.3 Liter V6 Concept-Car and shown at a motor show in Las Vegas, alongside a less extensively modified Chevrolet Celebrity.
The GTZ was built as a high-performance coupe with three doors and 2+2 seating. Its styling emphasized aerodynamics and a racing-inspired appearance, featuring a heavily rounded front end with concealed headlights, a large front air dam beneath a smoothed bumper section, and a prominent rear wing mounted at the base of the rear window frame.
Mechanically, the concept departed from the standard Camaro Z28 by replacing its 5-liter V8 with a modified 4.3-liter V6 aluminum engine fitted with port fuel injection and two turbochargers. This twin-turbo V6 was credited with 650 horsepower, a substantial increase over the production Z28 powertrain it was based on.
