The 2026 Genesis Scottish Open was not only a showcase for world-class golf but also an opportunity for Genesis to present one of its newest mobility concepts. Alongside the tournament activities, the company introduced the Genesis Box Buggy Concept, a technology demonstrator designed for short-distance transportation within closed environments.
Originally unveiled during the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Box Buggy Concept was developed together with Hyundai Mobis, combining automotive engineering with robotics technologies. Rather than serving as a conventional vehicle study, the concept demonstrates how advanced mobility solutions can be applied in premium leisure environments while reflecting Genesis' approach to hospitality.
The exterior adopts a distinctive appearance built around an integrated safety frame and large wheels. Finished in Atlantic Blue Matte, the vehicle also features optional lateral sun and wind screens integrated into the A- and B-pillars to improve passenger comfort under changing weather conditions. At the front, a continuous horizontal lighting signature provides a modern visual identity, while the interior contrasts this technical appearance with warm textile materials.
Beneath the bodywork, the Box Buggy Concept employs independent electric drive motors on each wheel together with four-wheel steering. Steer-by-wire, brake-by-wire and drive-by-wire technologies are integrated into the platform, allowing the concept to demonstrate a high level of maneuverability within confined spaces.
Its appearance at the Genesis Scottish Open highlighted how the concept can operate in real-world premium event environments, transporting guests while simultaneously serving as a showcase for Hyundai Motor Group's latest mobility technologies.
