2001 Karmann Transformer - AllCarIndex

The four-seated study of the ”Transformer” is presented by Karmann on the occasion of the one-hundredth anniversary of the Company to demonstrate a new approach in the construction of variable vehicle concepts. The core part is the ”Dual-Top” roof system. It is made of a soft fabric front part; the rear part is a glass cupola. By touch of a button, both roof parts may be lowered and compactly stored away in the luggage compartment.

In addition, a vertically adjustable chassis can lift the body by 65 mm and protective aluminium profiles come out of the bumpers and the side panel to protect the under body from stones and ground contact.
