The Nissan Urban SUV PHEV Concept made its global debut at Auto China 2026 as a study intended primarily for younger customers in China. Its design follows ideas introduced by the Dongfeng Nissan NX8 while establishing part of the visual direction planned for Nissan’s future SUV range. The exterior combines a smooth closed front section, divided lighting units, large wheels and a dark roof with a gently descending rear profile.
Nissan developed the concept around plug-in hybrid technology and everyday urban driving rather than off-road use. The manufacturer has not disclosed its dimensions, engine specification, electric range, battery capacity or combined power output, leaving the vehicle’s mechanical layout largely undefined at its Beijing presentation.
A production version is scheduled to be revealed within one year of the concept’s debut. Nissan has not yet confirmed whether this version will be sold outside China, unlike the related Terrano PHEV Concept, which is already intended for selected global markets.
