Consulier Automotive was an American manufacturer based in Riviera Beach, Florida, known for producing ultra-high-performance sports cars. Founded in the late 1980s, the company gained attention for its innovative use of racing technology in vehicle design. The flagship model, the Consulier GTP, featured an all-composite monocoque chassis and advanced suspension systems, including a rocker-arm front suspension with inboard coil-over springs. The vehicle was powered by a turbocharged, Shelby-modified Chrysler 4-cylinder engine, which produced up to 224 horsepower. With a weight of under 2,000 pounds, the Consulier GTP was noted for its speed and success in club-level racing.

The Consulier lineup included two main variants: the LX model, which offered amenities such as air conditioning, electric windows, and a leather interior, and the sportier GTP Sport model, designed with a focus on weight reduction. Despite its performance capabilities, the car faced challenges in the market due to its high price point of $63,000 for the LX model and its unremarkable body design, which some critics likened to a doorstop with a roof. The company later offered the Consulier in kit form, allowing enthusiasts to assemble their own vehicles.

In the 1990s, Consulier Automotive rebranded as Mosler Automotive, named after founder Warren Mosler. The company expanded its offerings by stretching the chassis to accommodate a modified Chevrolet V8 engine, paired with a Porsche 4-speed transaxle. This new model, the Mosler Intruder, boasted an impressive output of 446 horsepower and could accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.16 seconds. The Intruder was also available in kit form, catering to the growing interest in custom-built performance vehicles.
