Matco was an American automotive manufacturer that operated from 1978 to approximately 1988. The company was initially established as Matthews Motor Coach Corporation in Camarillo, California, before transitioning to the Matco name around 1980.
The brand specialized in producing neo-classic vehicles, which were characterized by their retro styling and luxurious features. One of the notable models produced by Matco featured a body length of 136 inches (3,453 mm) and was powered by a 7-liter Cadillac engine. The vehicles were designed with an emphasis on comfort and elegance, offering amenities such as a picnic set that included Minton china. Additionally, customers could choose from various options, including a 'tour car' hardtop and carpets made from vicuña or beaver.
Matco's production period was relatively short, and the company eventually ceased operations in the late 1980s. Despite its brief existence, Matco contributed to the niche market of neo-classic automobiles during its time.
