Galpin Ford GTR1 was a limited-production, coachbuilt supercar program developed by Galpin Auto Sports (Van Nuys, California) as a modern evolution of the 2004–2006 Ford GT. Announced and unveiled during Monterey Car Week in August 2013 (The Quail and Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance), the GTR1 used the Ford GT’s mechanicals with a hand-formed aluminum body widened by five inches and later an optional carbon-fiber body. The twin-turbocharged 5.4-liter V8 was rated at 1,024 hp and 739 lb-ft (up to 1,197 hp on 100-octane), with projected 0–60 mph around 3 seconds and 225-mph capability. Design and fabrication credits included Metalcrafters for the prototype body; the interior featured a machined-aluminum cluster, McIntosh audio, and bespoke leather trim. Galpin targeted ultra-low volumes at a price of about $1,024,000 (including the donor GT).

As a project of Galpin Auto Sports—a customization and coachbuilding arm within the Galpin Motors group—the GTR1 represented the firm’s first in-house supercar rather than a standalone marque. The program’s defining attributes were its coachbuilt aluminum or carbon bodywork, significantly increased output over the base Ford GT, and exhibition debuts at major concours venues. By the later 2010s the GTR1 was no longer being promoted for new orders, effectively concluding the program while Galpin Auto Sports continued operations.
