Brand Data

Company Name: Garde Gale

Place: Indianapolis, Indiana

Country: United States

The Gale Four was an automobile prototype introduced at the Indianapolis Automobile Show in 1920. Designed by Garde Gale in Indianapolis, Indiana, the vehicle garnered interest but ultimately did not progress to production due to a lack of financial backing.

Despite the initial enthusiasm, particularly from Lynn McCurdy, the son of Col. W. H. McCurdy of Hercules Corporation, the Gale Four's development faced significant challenges. Following the interest generated at the show, plans were made to evolve the Gale Four into a more advanced model, which was designated as the McCurdy Six. However, like its predecessor, the McCurdy Six also failed to enter production, although several pilot models were completed. The Gale Four remains a notable example of early 20th-century automotive innovation that did not reach the market.
