Fuller Buggy Company was established in Jackson, Michigan, in the early 20th century, specifically between 1909 and 1910. The company was founded by George A. Matthews, who was also known for his ownership of the Fuller Bags Company. Matthews aimed to diversify his business interests by venturing into the automobile industry.
The company initially produced a high-wheeler automobile powered by a 22-horsepower engine and utilized a chain drive system. In addition to the high-wheeler, Fuller Buggy Company developed a more conventional four-cylinder car. However, by 1911, the production of the high-wheeler model was discontinued, and the company shifted its focus to the 25/3 model, which became part of the Jackson range of automobiles.
Despite its brief existence, Fuller Buggy Company contributed to the early automotive landscape in the United States during a time of significant innovation and competition in the industry.
