The Auto Front Drive Manufacturing Company was established in 1905 in St. Louis, Missouri. The company specialized in the development of a front-drive axle that could be adapted to various automobile models. To showcase their innovative system, they constructed a prototype vehicle powered by a 16-horsepower four-cylinder Streite engine.
The design of the front-drive system utilized a chain to transfer power to the front axle, which was considered rudimentary by contemporary standards. Despite their efforts to attract interest from other manufacturers for either the complete vehicle or the front-drive axles, the company faced challenges in securing partnerships. Ultimately, it appears that the single prototype, which featured a tourer body, was the only vehicle produced by the Auto Front Drive Manufacturing Company.
