Friend Motors Corporation was established in 1921 in Pontiac, Michigan. The company primarily produced the Friend automobile, which was essentially a rebranded version of the Olympian car. Otis B. Friend acquired the Olympian brand in 1920, leading to the development of the Friend model.

The Friend featured a proprietary four-cylinder engine and was built on a 112-inch (2842 mm) wheelbase. It was marketed exclusively as a five-passenger touring model, although it was essentially a two-door roadster designed to accommodate five occupants. The vehicle offered options for wooden artillery or wire wheels, catering to varying customer preferences.

Despite attempts to sustain the business, including a price reduction from $1,585 to $1,185, Friend Motors Corporation produced fewer than 50 cars before ceasing operations. The company's brief existence highlighted the challenges faced by early automotive manufacturers in a competitive market.
