Findlay Carriage Company was established in 1910 in Findlay, Ohio, primarily as a manufacturer of horse-drawn vehicles. The company aimed to diversify its production by entering the automobile market, planning to launch a 40-horsepower, four-cylinder touring car priced at $2,500. This price point was competitive for a vehicle of its size during that era; however, the anticipated demand did not materialize, and few, if any, customers expressed interest in purchasing the automobile.
Despite its foray into car production, Findlay Carriage Company continued to focus on its core business of manufacturing carriages and a limited number of motor hearses. The company operated in this capacity until 1916, when a fire destroyed its factory, ultimately leading to the cessation of its operations.
