Eastern Indiana Motor Car Company was established in 1915 in Richmond, Indiana. The company focused on producing light automobiles, notably featuring a four-seater body design. Its vehicles were powered by an 18-horsepower four-cylinder engine, which was mounted on the frame rather than between the side members. This design choice was claimed to prevent 'bedding' on rough terrain, enhancing the vehicle's performance in challenging conditions.

Despite its innovative approach, Eastern Indiana Motor Car Company produced only three cars before ceasing operations. The company's directors attempted to revive their automotive efforts with the Laurel model, which was manufactured from 1916 to 1920. However, this endeavor did not lead to significant success, and the company ultimately faded from the automotive landscape.
