Exotic Dream Machines (EDM) was a kit car manufacturer based in Rancho Cordova, California, that operated from approximately 1988 to 1990. The company specialized in producing rebody kits primarily for the Porsche 911 and 912 models, which were relatively uncommon in the kit car market.
One of the notable products offered by EDM was the Dream Speedster, a kit that transformed the Porsche 911 into an open roadster featuring a unique design for both the front and rear ends. Another significant model was the California R59, which updated the 911 to resemble the Porsche 959, an exotic sports car. Additionally, EDM produced a convertible version inspired by the 959, known as the Intrigue Speedster, along with a customized variant called the R59S.
In its brief existence, EDM also ventured into the production of a Lamborghini Countach replica. However, by 1990, the company faced financial challenges and decided to sell its projects in order to fund the development of an original design car, which ultimately did not come to fruition.
